AFTAC's mission is to monitor compliance with nuclear test ban treaties to standards set by US verification and policy leaders. Both the US NDC and NTNF mission areas support AFTAC to detect, identify, and characterize nuclear events and to report nuclear forensic information to national authorities. Task will be to review daily data feeds to discern, identify, and document man-made phenomena verses naturally occurring phenomena, along with support the software testing lifecycle.

For the NTNF mission support, the analyst will also document any state of health (SOH) issues with sensors, software or communication systems from an estimated 80 sensor locations. The analyst will collaborate with customer operations and subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand background noise at sensor sites and their impact on data evaluation and review. The seismic analyst will document standard operating procedures, checklists, and concept of operations baselines and changes that occur as the contractor refines analyst duties.

For the US NDC mission support, the position is responsible for the seismic and system testing and evaluation of the US NDC software applications and systems, to include software, hardware, database, and geophysical aspects. The candidate will join the software and systems team in developing test plans based on the software requirements and technical specifications for unit testing, integration testing, and pre- and post-promotion testing phases.
