Your Opportunity

Plans and establishes production schedules with the lead scheduler to organize the daily and weekly sales orders to ensure an efficient and attainable production schedule. Responsible for short and long term planning of raw material inventory and supplies required for production schedule. Monitors finished material inventories, tracks progress of production and reviews factors that affect schedules and make necessary modifications to schedules. Issues orders to the appropriate production departments when revisions are made to the schedule.

Core Responsibilities
    Assists in scheduling production areas based on products to be processed to cover sales orders and the movement of work force on a daily and/or weekly basis.
  • Runs daily inventory reports and calculations for raw materials in order to fill weekly orders.
  • Assists in managing the rotation of raw materials.
  • Utilizes the SAP Production Planning module, Material Management module, and Sales Distribution module to assist in determining the master production schedule for the plant.
  • Creates and distributes the schedule to Production Supervisors to ensure production needs are met.
  • Reviews and supports the coordination of sales orders, rotation of finished products, stock transfers, incoming raw material and inventories daily with the Shipping department to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Meets sales orders by maintaining correct inventories for production at the plant for efficiency and yields.
  • Assists in managing the rotation of finished products to keep them out of the freezer and to ensure product dates remain in spec.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Agriculture, Business, Marketing or related field and 1+ years' experience in the Meat or Food Industry; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of SAP and the modules Production Planning, Material Management and Sales Distribution.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and technical skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, Internet and Order processing software.
  • Ability to act quickly, accurately and handle a fast paced work environment.
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal.
  • May be required to work long hours and weekends.
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

  • The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat (non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel, and talk or hear.
