ERG is looking for talented, motivated individuals to join our growing water and wastewater engineering practice. You will have the opportunity to work with US EPA, States, and other agencies to address today's most pressing water quality, resource, and infrastructure challenges.
Job Description:
  • Developing regulations to control industrial wastewater discharges of Per- and Polyfluorinated Substances (PFAS) and other emerging contaminants that impact human health and the environment
  • Providing technical assistance to small, underserved water and wastewater utilities across the country to access funding and design, build, and maintain sustainable, resilient water infrastructure systems and provide clean water to their communities
  • Assessing and promoting innovative water and wastewater treatment technologies and developing resources to reduce barriers to adoption
  • Evaluating the design, costs, and environmental impacts of potential water and wastewater infrastructure projects
  • Overseeing project construction and ensuring compliance with Federal and State water and wastewater infrastructure grants and loans
  • Supporting wastewater-based surveillance programs to facilitate COVID-19 and future public health response efforts
Qualifications and Skills:
  • A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer's (PE) license or ability to obtain a license within one to two years of joining ERG
  • Strong writing, communication, and time management skills
  • Knowledge of infrastructure financing programs, including State Revolving Fund and/or other state or federal grant and loan programs
  • Experience supporting water and/or wastewater utility planning and operations-experience working with small, rural systems or systems in disadvantaged communities is a plus
  • Five or more years of experience with water or wastewater treatment system design or system evaluation
  • Knowledge of federal water and wastewater regulations and permitting requirements
  • More experienced candidates should ideally have three years of project or program management experience
