Job Title:Manager, Procurement

Location:Stillwater, MN

Job Scope

Responsible for direct and indirect procurement strategic and tactical plans, vendor selection, negotiations and contract management covering the Stillwater site with strong linkage to corporate Italian team.

Focal point for supplier relationship management, scouting, new supplier introduction, assisting with expediting, supplier performance for optimal customer service, business continuity and cost efficiency. Continuously drive improvement through strengthening business processes and team member talent in order to meet customer, business and team member expectations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement the strategies devised in collaboration with central Procurement on all procured categories, to ensure supply continuity, compliance to quality standards and lowest total cost
  • Meet business goals through contract agreements, identifying alternative vendors, reducing supplier lead times and broad portfolio volume price negotiations.
  • Propose business continuity roadmap including dual sourcing to reduce risk and enable business growth
  • Maintain and report data supporting cost reduction, supplier performance and quality improvement programs.
  • Monitor the procurement process through existing KPIs, including price variance, and develop further ones where needed
  • Lead vendor rating assessments with internal teams: Supplier Quality, OpEx, Supply chain, Purchasing
  • Analyze current products\services portfolio and supplier base in order to identify cost savings and synergy opportunities and consolidate the vendor portfolio.
  • Review and provide suppliers with product specifications for purchases
  • Prepare and share demand forecast data with suppliers where necessary
  • Plan annual\budget spend with internal stakeholders and react promptly to requests in order to provide the best choice available in the supply market within the required delivery date.
  • Ability to prepare and evaluate RFIs, RFQs and supplier selection matrix
  • Collaboratively work cross-functionally to seek for better spend opportunities
  • Participate in cross-site harmonization projects to optimize results
  • Actively support internal and corporate projects where procurement is needed
  • Ability to implement procurement policies and procedures
  • Assist with obtaining supplier capacity analysis for critical internal assessments
  • Assist tactical Buyers to remove obstacles with vendors ability to meet dates and quantities in POs
  • Promote an environment of trust, cross functional collaboration and ethical behaviors
  • Promote open channels of communication throughout the organization
  • Actively participate in team meetings and embrace strong communication across the organization with clear actions, persistent follow-through and decision making
  • Develop teams to be engaged, motivated, knowledgeable and accountable to achieve results
  • Invest time in developing team members to grow strength for more robust execution and also to support overall strategic succession plan
  • Provide clear goals, expectations and assist individuals on identifying initiatives to execute
  • Perform formal performance evaluations and continuously provide candid respectful feedback on performance for awareness and focus
  • Understand and utilize documentation necessary for regulatory compliance
  • Understand and maintain formal training compliance within time requirements
  • Follow DiaSorin's established compliance procedures and support audits, documentation updates in compliance with OSHA, EPA, NRC and FDA
  • Assist in internal agency audits as needed
  • Participate in financial budgeting and capital analyses to support continuous improvement
  • Educate team members so they understand the financial objectives and guide them in understanding their role and influence in meeting these objectives
  • Understand spend in responsible cost centers and methods to monitor
  • Perform work in a safe manner consistent with DiaSorin's health, safety and environmental policies and assume responsibility for self and others to drive a safe workplace
  • Actively participate in and support efforts to improve the safety of the workplace (i.e. incident reporting, conducting safety audits, attending safety committee meetings, etc.)
  • Participate in DiaSorin's safety training programs, demonstrate competency in emergency response procedures and DiaSorin's Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
  • Ensure direct reports consistently demonstrate compliance with DiaSorin's established health, safety, and environmental policies including the use of PPE, attending EHS training and following appropriate safety precautions

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, economics, engineering, biology or biochemistry field and Master's degree in business or science fields
  • 3-7 years of experience with procurement or supply chain within the medical operations industry or other regulated business
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills with suppliers and internal customers
  • Negotiation skills required to deal, work and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal and external relationships
  • Interpersonal skills such to gather and share information while putting others at ease
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, ask the right questions, remove obstacles, drive decisions and plans
  • Knowledge of cost analysis techniques for products and services
  • Advanced computer systems skills such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint, SAP
  • Ability to maintain accurate records with a high level of initiative and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow ISO 9001 and 13485 and 21 CFR 820 guidelines and practices
