The Technical Leader will design and architect complex financial application modules for our Investment & Advisory business. This person will be part of a high-performance team and will be expected to take ownership of smart (WPF & Silverlight) components. The Technical Leader will be responsible for design, architecture, timely completion and quality of these products. The role is expected to be hands on and provide guidance and ensure compliance with enterprise wide technical and functional standards.

Essential responsibilities:
  • Design and architect applications and mentor a team of highly skilled developers to deliver smart application components based on Microsoft .NET technology with specific focus on WPF and Silverlight
  • Partner with Product Management & QA teams to:
    • Produce and review technical design & documentation for core application components
    • Work with the central architecture team to implement standards and design patterns
    • Lead alternate paths to technical solutions as needed
    • Drive quality throughout the SDLC - including code review, automated unit and integration testing, continuous integration, performance monitoring.
    • Work collaboratively with QA on the development and review of test plans / test strategy
    • Work collaborative with Usability/User Experience group to ensure high usability of applications
    • Work collaboratively with project management on project planning, task estimation
    • Work closely with other teams to understand system interdependencies, and provide guidance in complex initiatives
    • Work closely with Segment/Product Management team to understand customer needs
This position is located in Boston, MA.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related degree preferred
  • 12 years of hands-on experience delivering reliable scalable internet facing 24x7 / high-volume applications, with expertise in developing Web Services and smart applications with .NET, C#
  • Project management experience involving requirements definition, schedules, software implementations and upgrades, change and risk management, business processes redesign and improvement
  • Passion and hands-on type attitude towards automation and business process improvement
  • Cross functional team leadership
  • Strong problem solving and follow through skills with full technical delivery accountability
  • Excellent time management and leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English
  • Experience with financial services applications with specific focus on Investment Management (5 years with financial services applications desired)
